Simply put, “Schober’s” has thrived for four generations because of:    a.  Fresh, delicious, quality           fruit    b.  Honest customer service Hundreds of friends from our community have bought their fruit from us for years, with our reputation growing through “word of mouth” endorsements.  In recent years we’ve added vegetables, decorative plants, and many other treats to our product line, and our customers now come from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Does the crazy pace of today’s world make you long for a simpler time?  Are you looking for a place to buy fresh-grown produce for your family at reasonable prices?

Though we’re located just minutes from the region’s busiest areas, a trip to “Schober’s” is like a refreshing step back in time.  As you drive past the lush rows of fruit trees on these 275 beautiful acres of preserved farmland, you may see our workers hand-picking the fruit during harvest.  And depending upon the season, you may see wagon loads of bright mums and pumpkins, quarts of colorful berries, or baskets of blushing peaches as you enter our lot.

Walking into our market, you’ll notice the rich aroma of fresh fruit, particularly during apple season–and perhaps the sounds of tractors, forklifts, and sorting/grading equipment preparing fruit from the orchards for immediate sale. (While fruit from the grocery store may sometimes have been picked a year earlier, the fruit you purchase from us has often been picked earlier the same day!)

Next, you’ll be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who can help you choose just the right items for your needs–such as baking a special pie or cake, packing lunches, making candy apples, or freezing for the winter.  And finally, a swig of our fresh, cold apple cider; a taste of our delectable salsas and jams; or a bite of juicy fresh fruit is a delicious way to top off your visit!

Family and Friends John's sons, Johnny and Jason, represent the FIFTH generation of our family to work at Schober's.  We have been blessed by dear friends who have joined our ranks through the years to help provide attentive service to our customers.
